What it calculates
- Per-shift hours: clock-in, clock-out, and unpaid break minutes for as many shifts as you add, including automatic overnight-shift detection.
- Period total: every shift's worked time added together, shown in both hours-and-minutes and decimal format.
- Overtime: an optional weekly hour threshold and multiplier, splitting the total into regular and overtime hours.

Why overtime defaults to a simple weekly rule
The default 40-hour/1.5× setup matches the standard U.S. federal rule, but real overtime law varies by state and employer — some require daily overtime, some use different thresholds entirely. The threshold and multiplier are both editable, or you can turn overtime off if it doesn't apply to your situation.
